Swelling and abscesses can be serious and may require urgent treatment to prevent the infection spreading. Signs include severe pain, a bad taste, fever, or difficulty swallowing. Call us immediately — we'll assess you quickly and may prescribe antibiotics alongside treatment to drain the abscess.

How quickly can I be seen for an emergency?

We aim to see all dental emergencies as quickly as possible, often the same day. We prioritise urgent cases and will work to get you an appointment promptly. For severe cases like knocked-out teeth, we treat you as a top priority.

What are your emergency opening hours?

We're open Mon: 8am-6:30pm, Tue: 8am-8pm, Wed-Thu: 8am-6:30pm, Fri: 8am-8pm, Sat: 8am-6:30pm, and Sun: 9:30am-12:30pm. Call us and we'll get you seen as soon as possible.

Do you see patients who aren't registered with your practice?

How much does an emergency appointment cost?

Emergency consultations start from £65. This includes examination and diagnosis. Any treatment needed will be quoted separately before we proceed, so you'll always know the cost upfront.

We ask for payment at the time of treatment, but we offer flexible payment options if needed. We accept all major cards and can discuss payment plans for more extensive treatment. Don't let cost concerns delay seeking help.

What should I do if my tooth is knocked out?

Act quickly! Pick up the tooth by the crown (not the root), rinse gently if dirty, and try to place it back in the socket. If you can't, keep it moist in milk or saliva. Call us immediately — teeth reimplanted within 30 minutes have the best chance of survival.

I have severe toothache — what can I do until my appointment?

Take over-the-counter painkillers like ibuprofen or paracetamol (following packet instructions). Apply a cold compress to your cheek. Avoid very hot, cold, or sweet foods. Rinse with warm salt water. Call us to get seen as soon as possible.

While not always an emergency, you should see us soon to prevent further damage or infection. Keep the crown if you have it. Avoid chewing on that side and keep the area clean. Call us and we'll advise whether you need to be seen urgently.

Antibiotics alone rarely cure dental infections — they may help temporarily but the underlying cause needs treatment. We'll assess your infection and provide appropriate treatment, which may include antibiotics alongside drainage or other procedures.
